Parliamentary By-Election 2012 result

Here are the by-election results:

Christine Emmett (Conservative) 9,476 votes. Labour 17,267 votes, UKIP 5,108 votes, Lib/Dem 1,770 votes, BNG 614 votes, Greens 378 votes,110 spoilt papers.  The electorate was 79,878 and there were 35,775 ballot papers returned representing 44.7% turnout. The Labour candidate was duly elected as the Kettering MP for Corby.  Christine Emmett recorded her very grateful thanks to her team and all her supporters and said she was very sad to not win but,although wishing him well, she said she would be keeping her eye on the Labour MP over the next two years.
